BATTLES ROYALE

Two fun-packed drama workshops, for KS1,
each exploring a famous British battle:

1. The Battle of Hastings

The date is 1067. The children will meet a Saxon veteran, Ardith, who has been commissioned by the new Norman rulers to train villagers in the art of warfare, should they be called upon to defend their country. In their role as the new recruits, the children will be put through their paces and key to their instruction is an understanding of why the Normans invaded, and how they managed to claim victory on the battlefield in 1066.

2. The Battle of Trafalgar

It is 1805, the children will meet Captain Forrester, training new recruits for the forthcoming battle against Napoleon. In role as members of The King’s Royal Navy, they will embark on an action-packed adventure aboard the warship ‘Conqueror’. On their journey, they will learn many aspects of early 19th century seafaring and have fun experiencing the gruelling jobs undertaken on board ship and understand the importance of teamwork when firing a cannon and raising an anchor with the capstan..

“The feedback from both staff and children for your ‘Battle of Hastings’ workshops was overwhelmingly positive. Thank you so much.
Can’t wait to find a reason to contact you for another workshop”.
